Excellent food at Galway's newest Indian restaurant!
Himalayan Essence just opened in Galway City and we were really impressed.
We ordered the chicken wings, chicken mo-mos, and veg samosa chaat. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. The wings were crispy with a great sweet-chilli glaze. The mo-mos were steamed perfectly - juicy filling with a spicy tomato achar on the side. The samosa chaat was the highlight: tangy, crunchy, and packed with flavour.
Portions are generous and service was friendly. The restaurant is clean with nice plating.
Definitely worth a visit if you like Indian/Nepalese food. Great to see a new local business opening in Galway - do give them a try and support them.
Will be back to try more from the menu.

We had a lovely dinner today! My husband and I are well familiar with the area and noticed this new spot pop up so we decided to try it and were not disappointed. We ordered the prawns and momos (dumplings) for appetisers and the lamb jalfrezi and garlic naan as a main. Everything was fresh, delicious and flavourful. The restaurant was clean, warm and comfortable and the service was warm and attentive. We will definitely be back.
This is the best Indian restaurant I have tried in Galway . The food quality is superb . My boyfriend got the momos and said they are the best he has had in years. My prawn and scallop curry was absolutely delicious and the sauce was flavourful and perfectly spiced. Portion sizes were perfect and the staff were polite , efficient and warm. I cannot recommend this place enough and wish the new owner the best of luck. We will be coming back again soon .
